Professors T. J. Ferguson, Takeshi Inomata, and Barbara Mills attended the Third Shanghai Archaeology Forum, sponsored by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. Several hundred archaeologists from around the world attended the conference to hear about the latest field and laboratory research discoveries. Professor Inomata, along with his Ceibal team, is a past winner of the field award and this year one of our alumna, Dr. Patricia Crown (Ph.D. Arizona, 1981; Distinguished Professor, University of New Mexico), was an awardee for her excavations at Pueblo Bonito. Also attending was alumna Dr. Sarah Herr (Ph.D. Arizona, 1999; President, Desert Archaeology, Inc.), another past awardee for her company’s work on Early Agricultural sites in the Santa Cruz Corridor.
