Reineke speaks at United Nations

Robin Reineke (Ph.D. Arizona, 2016), Research Social Scientist with the Southwest Center and Executive Director of the Colibrí Center for Human Rights, spoke at the United Nations following the release of a report by UN Special Rapporteur on Extrajudicial, Summary, or Arbitrary Executions, Agnes Callamard. The report, titled, “Unlawful Death of Refugees and Migrants,” addresses killings by both State and non-State actors and denounces the “regime of impunity” that is continuously worsened by the lack of accurate data on the dead and the missing. Reineke appeared alongside other experts and the daughter of a woman who disappeared on the U.S.-Mexico border, who shared her testimony. The report is available here.
