Recent Publications: Visiting Scholars Douglass and Graves Publish Edited Volume

Visiting Scholars John Douglass and William Graves have recently published, with the University Press of Colorado (UPC), an edited volume on Spanish colonialism in the American Southwest. This volume, New Mexico and the Pimería Alta, takes a holistic approach with archaeological, ethnohistorical, historical, and landscape data to better understand how different forms of colonialism and indigenous political economies resulted in diverse outcomes for colonists and Native people. A number of SOA and ASM people, both past and present, are contributors to the volume, including: Dale Brenneman, Lauren Jelinek, Kelly Jenks, Stewart Koyiyumptewa, Phil Leckman, Lindsay Montgomery, Barney Pavao-Zuckerman, Tom Sheridan, Homer Thiel, and Laurie Webster. Thanks to a grant from the Knowledge Unlatched organization to UPC, this volume will be available both for sale and as an Open Access PDF through the Press.
