Bronitsky Fulbright Specialist Project Leads to Festival, More

As reported earlier, Gordon Bronitsky (Ph.D. Arizona, 1977) was selected by Lupane State University in Zimbabwe for a Fulbright Specialist project in 2016 and 2017. Dr. Bronitsky will serve as a guest lecturer, critique the University’s proposed program in Anthropology, assist the university with developing its curriculum in arts management, and hold public lectures and seminars. As part of his project duties, this past July he facilitated an international cultural marketing workshop that laid the groundwork for the first TiBakalanga!/We Are Kalanga! Festival, which will be held July 22–23, 2017. The workshop also led to members of the TG Silundika Cultural Community Center attending a fashion workshop facilitated by world renowned fashion designer John Ablaza. Dr. Bronitsky has also facilitated the upcoming participation of the Native Pride Dancers in the World Nomad Games, which will be held in Kyrgyzstan next August 31–September 9, 2017.
