BARA and SoA at SfAAs

More than two dozen students, faculty, and staff from the SoA and Bureau of Applied Research in Anthropology (BARA) shared their work through posters, presentations, and roundtable discussions at the 77th Annual Meeting of the Society for Applied Anthropology in Santa Fe March 28–April 1. Highlights include a roundtable session organized by BARA interns and RAs in partnership with youth, volunteers, and leaders from Owl & Panther, a Tucson-based expressive arts program for refugee families, and facilitated by Maisa Taha (Ph.D. Arizona, 2014). Special congratulations to Leila Castro (BARA intern, SOA undergrad), Michael Chikos, (BARA intern, SOA undergrad), Beatriz Garcia (Universidad de Desarollo Profesional, Nogales, Sonora), and Rebecca Bedwell (BARA RA, SoA grad student) for receiving third prize in the Student Poster Contest for their poster, “Federal Education at Local Levels: The Implementation of Construye T in Sonora, Mexico.”
