Scholarship Fund Reaches Milestone

Kudos to J. Jefferson Reid, Professor Emeritus of Anthropology and University Distinguished Professor! Royalties from a book he co-edited with David E. Doyel (Ph.D. Arizona, 1977) have generated more than $11,000 in scholarships for School of Anthropology students. The 1986 University of Arizona Press volume is Emil W. Haury’s Prehistory of the American Southwest. According to Dr. Reid, the intention was always for the royalties to provide support for archaeology majors, both graduate and undergraduate. The royalties “add up to a big benefit for UA Anthropology” through the Emil W. Haury Education Fund for Archaeology, says SoA Director Dr. Diane Austin.
