Christopher I. Roos (Ph.D., 2008) and T. J. Ferguson (Professor) co-edited an issue of Archaeology Southwest Magazine (Vol. 30, No. 4) on “Fire Adds Richness to the Land, the Jemez FHiRE Project.” This issue summarizes the work of the Jemez Fire and Humans in Resilient Ecosystems Project (FHiRE), a three year long NSF-funded fire ecology study in the Jemez Mountains of New Mexico. The issue contains several articles written by UA alumni, including Sharlot Hart (M.A., 2015), Stewart B. Koyiumptewa (B.A., 2008), Barry Price Steinbrecher (M.A., 2015), and John R. Welch (Ph.D., 1996). See the table of contents and buy a copy here.
