Archaeology of the Mediterranean News

John Keck, Ph.D. student in the Archaeology of the Mediterranean World in the School of Anthropology has received one of the 2019 College of Science Graduate Student Awards in the category of “Service.” John works in the Laboratory of Tree Ring Research as a Graduate Research Assistant in the Mediterranean Dendrochronology Laboratory with Dr. Charlotte Pearson, Assistant Professor of Anthropology.

David Gilman Romano, Nicholas and Athena Karabots Professor of Greek Archaeology has been the Rodney S. Young Lecturer of the Archaeological Institute of America this term at Dickinson College, Carlisle, Pa. and at Trinity College, Hartford Connecticut. He was also the Peter H. von Blanckenhagen Memorial Lecturer of the Archaeological Institute of America this term at the Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. His talk at all three schools was “Altars of Zeus, Games for the Gods: Lykaion and Olympia in Early Greek Religion.” (Anthro News digest date: 4/26/2019)
