Tori Iron Strong

Tori Iron Strong is a first-year Ph.D. student in Anthropology at the University of Arizona. Building on her background in cultural resource management, she recently received an M.S. from the University of Oregon. Through interviews with Native Beadworkers (and some autoethnography, as she is a Beadworker herself), she recognizes contemporary Beadworkers as Culture Bearers and explores alternative perspectives on beads and archaeological practice using Beadwork as an epistemological framework. 
Her doctoral research will continue to consider the relationship between craft production and knowledge production in both archaeological and ethnographic contexts, this time with perishable remains and textiles.
