About Lauren Bridgeman

Lauren Bridgeman is an applied archaeologist working under the guidance of Dr. Nieves Zedeño. Working with communities she enjoys exploring questions about the past and bringing it into present by re-remembering knowledge in way that connects people to their cultural landscape. Going beyond material artifacts, Lauren is interested in investigating how the physical landscape shapes experiences, perceptions, language, daily life, emotions, and identity. Her dissertation work will investigate survivance strategies employed by the Blackfeet community at the Holy Family Mission School, located in northern Montana.

Lauren comes to this graduate program following extensive experience working in cultural resource management. She enjoys working as a field technician on a variety of projects from Alabama to Alaska! Her interest and experience are diverse, driving her to collaborate and integrate a variety of theories and methods within her work.
