BARA Team Travels to Zion National Park
Maddie Moeller (shown above), BARA Research Assistant, and Diane Austin, SoA Professor and Director, traveled to Zion National Park to review files from the Bryce Canyon National Park archives, which are located there. They spent two days reading documents, scanning files, and looking through pictures of park activities and events and then traveled to Bryce Canyon to meet with NPS staff. They even managed to get in several hikes and a couple of nights of camping while on the trip. On the way back to Tucson, they will stop at Lees Ferry to visit the Brown Trout Harvest Incentive program and send colleagues Kevin Bulletts, Victor Herrera, and Gabriel Cardenas off on the annual Southern Paiute Consortium monitoring and education trip down the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon. Check out next week’s Anthro News for more on that adventure!
