Henry Gorton, a graduating senior (B.A. in Anthropology and Religious Studies), is a recipient of the Honors College’s Spring 2021 Dean’s Award of Excellence! Henry’s Honors thesis advisor is the School of Anthropology’s Director, Dr. Diane Austin. Henry writes that his thesis “examines changes to the wording of the American Indian category on the 2020 Census.” and the potential consequences of the new wording not only for Native Americans but also for indigenous communities from Mexico and Central America. Read more about Henry on the Honors College 2020–2021 awards page.
