Associate Professor Megan Carney was part of writing a statement issued by the AAA this week and prepared in collaboration with the Anthropologist Action Network for Immigrants and Refugees and is endorsed by the Society for North American Anthropology, the Council on Anthropology and Education, and the Anthropology of Children and Youth Interest Group. Collectively, they “call on the Biden administration to cease the separation of im/migrant families and the detention of children,” and describe “a three-part approach that is monitored by independent experts and follows best practices in each.” Read the statement now.
