Dr. Megan Carney, SoA Assistant Professor and Director, Center for Regional Food Studies, shared that she was interviewed for a story on Public Radio International’s The World that came out this past week. Speaking of the radio piece “COVID Sparks a New ‘Right to Food’ Movement Across the Globe,” Dr. Carney writes, “I was excited to hear that the right to food was getting mainstream media coverage, and even happier to talk about it!”

In other news, Dr. Carney posted a piece on Sapiens about how migrant youth filmmakers in Palermo, Italy, are working to make sure their stories are told not only by those who wield power. She hopes to take SoA students to Palermo with her “to do a participatory ethnographic field school with this lab at some future date.” (Anthro News Digest date: 06/11/2021)
