Recent Publications: Stiner, Mentzer Part of Neolithic Urine Salts Research Team

Regents’ Professor Mary Stiner and alum Susan Mentzer (Ph.D. Arizona, 2011) are among the co-authors of a new article from Science Advances titled “Urine salts elucidate Early Neolithic animal management at Aşıklı Höyük, Turkey.” The research uses a new approach developed by then-undergrad in UA geosciences, lead author Jordan Abell, to examine the transition from hunting to herding. This UANews piece explains more about the international project. (Anthro News digest date: 4/26/2019)
