Recent Publications: Alum Ryan Publishes in Kiva

Alumna Susan Ryan (Ph.D. Arizona, 2013), director of archaeology at the Crow Canyon Archaeological Center, is a co-author of a recent article in Kiva—Journal of Southwestern Anthropology and History titled “Desirable Meat: The Social Context of Meat Procurement at Albert Porter Pueblo, a Great House Community in the Central Mesa Verde Region.” The paper examines how meat’s “availability and consumption relates to social organization in ancestral Pueblo communities,” according to this Crow Canyon press release.
