Lewis and Clark Field Scholarship for Kaya!

Doctoral Student Ziya Kaya has been awarded a scholarship from the American Philosophical Society Lewis and Clark Fund for Exploration and Field Research. Ziya will use this award to conduct his dissertation research on digital farming technologies and local agroecological knowledge in western Turkey in 2022 under the supervision of Dr. Brian Silverstein. The acceptance letter says, “Recipients of grants are known as Lewis and Clark Field Scholars. Initial awards were supported by a benefaction from the late Stanford Ascherman, MD, of San Francisco, which came to the American Philosophical Society through the Stanford Ascherman/Baruch Blumberg Fund for Basic Science.” Learn more about APS Lewis and Clark Scholars here. (Anthro News Digest date: 05/07/2021)
