Alum Borck Collaborates on “Running Safer Sessions”

March 1, 2021

Lewis Borck (Ph.D. 2016) was one of the group of authors that collaboratively authored and edited the recent Running Safer Sessions infosheet produced and digitally distributed by the Black Trowel Collective. This infosheet was crafted to help session organizers and participants, online or in person, run sessions that take into account the safety of the organizers, the participants, and the audience. It also outlines a process for discussion that allows for more equitability in who is given space to speak. An online version of the infosheet, along with downloadable PDFs and JPEGs, is available here, and a Spanish language version has been translated by one of the Collective's Venezualan members and is available here. Lewis writes that the infosheet has “been pretty well received by the international archaeology community (at least the online community) since we released it and folks who have implemented it have been really happy with the results.” (Anthro News Digest date: 2/12/2021)
