Valentina Glockner is Professor and Researcher at the Colegio de Sonora Hermosillo, Sonora MX.

Title: Child Migration in Sonoran Borderlands: A look at the multiple dynamics and the needs of child protection

Abstract: The talk aims at pointing out some of the multiple dynamics and processes of child migration happening within Sonora, Mexico to be able to discuss the complexity and intertwinement of child migration fluxes, as well the role of children’s agency and knowledge in the production of the phenomenon. We will also focus on particular state strategies being implemented to care and protect children, and the ways they conform or contribute to produce border regimes and regimes of fronterization that have children’s bodies and subjectivities at its core.
