Christopher Manuel

Christopher is an Indigenous Master's student in the Applied Archaeology program, focused on researching the intersectionality of the Southwest/Northwest Mexican interchange through archaeological and theoretical contexts. He obtained an Associates in Arts in Anthropology from Scottsdale Community College and received his B.S. in Anthropology with an Archaeological Sciences Emphasis from The University of Arizona. While completing his undergrad, he worked at the Laboratory for Tree Ring Research as a student lab assistant measuring tree rings in charcoal excavated from sites in the Tonto Basin. He is currently working at the Arizona State Museum as a Graduate Research Assistant helping with Repatriation efforts.

 

His research interests are Southwest Archaeology, Indigenous Archaeology, Social Network Theory , Material Culture, Ethnohistory, Southwest Iconography and Southwest/Northwest Mexican Interactions
