About Nicholas Jones

Nicholas Jones is a Ph.D. student in Anthropology from Louisville, Kentucky with a focus on Greek Archaeology. Pivoting a childhood fascination with folklore and mythology into a love of Classics and cultures, Nicholas attended the University of Cininnati where he obtained a B.A. in Anthropology, Archaeology, and Classical Civilizations with a minor in Classics after graduating Summa Cum Laude. While at the University of Cininnati, Nicholas was awarded the Semple Scholarship. Additionally, he was awarded two Semple Travel Awards and an Honors grant from the University of Cincinnati to fund his participation in archaeological fieldwork. He attended the Kea Archaeological Research Survey Field School under Dr. Joanne Murphy in 2018 and planned to return to the project in 2020 before the season's cancellation. At the University of Cincinnati, Nicholas worked to incorporate his Anthropological and Classical studies together. His research interests include ceramic production and analysis, cross-cultural contact, and the development of identity and practices in areas of cultural admixture. Outside of his research, he enjoys science fiction, movies, camping, and Dungeons and Dragons.
