SoA Linguistic Anthropology at SLA
April 15, 2022
Linguistic anthropology at the UA was well represented at the recent Society for Linguistic Anthropology 2022 Conference in Boulder, CO! Drs. Jen Roth-Gordon and Qing Zhang each gave multiple presentations, as did current students Joseph Marks and Christina Newhall along with alumna Keri Miller (Ph.D. 2019). Three panels celebrated the work of SoA Professors Emeritae Susan Philips (organized by former students Barbra Meek, Ph.D. 2001, and Jacqueline Messing, Ph.D. 2003) and Jane Hill (organized by former student Christina Leza, Ph.D. 2009). In total, over ten panels featured the work of linguistic anthropologists associated with the University of Arizona!
