Worthey Receives Leakey Foundation Grant
Jan. 22, 2021
Congratulations to Ph.D. student Kayla Worthey, who recently received a Leakey Foundation Research Grant for her project titled “Environmental context of early ornament use during the Moroccan MSA.” The grant will be used to fund stable isotope analyses of faunal remains and leaf wax biomarkers from Moroccan Paleolithic sites in order to provide local paleoenvironmental contexts for the appearance, sustained use, and disappearance of marine shell bead ornaments in the Middle Stone Age archaeological record.
