Pleshet Extends BARA’s Reach to Australia

During the months of April and May, Dr. Noah Pleshet, BARA Research Scientist, undertook fieldwork and scoping consultations about a new research project idea in central Australia, focused on applied outcomes of research on road infrastructure and cultural landscapes. Though in early project planning and permissions stages, Dr. Pleshet will aim to develop the project with a range of potential partners including tribal governments, agencies, and private sector logistics and engineering providers. If implemented, the project would draw on his experience on impact assessments for infrastructure in central Australia and here in the Southwest, as well as a range of new research capacities in the areas of digital ethnographic mapping and landscape visualization he is developing at BARA. Look for updates in the Fall! (Anthro News date: 5/31/2019)
