Nichter Receives SMA Recognition

On November 4, 2021, Regents’ Professor Emeritus Mark Nichter received the Hazel Weidman Award for Exemplary Service to the Society for Medical Anthropology (SMA). Established in 2017, the Hazel Weidman Award is presented every two years to a member who has, over the course of a career, demonstrated extraordinary service to the profession. The president elect of the SMA is SoA graduate Carolyn Smith-Morris (Ph.D. UArizona 2001).
