Medical Anthropology graduate student Brittany Frank appeared on the second page of the Arizona Daily Star this past Wednesday, February 21. Brittany was shown demonstrating the Ethiopian coffee ceremony as part of the UA’s 12th annual Peace Corps Fair. She served in the Peace Corps in Ethiopia from 2011 to 2013 as an English Language Teacher Trainer and again as a Peace Corps Response Volunteer in 2014 (as a Public Health Planning Specialist). Brittany is now a Coverdell Fellow at the UA. Most of her work was focused on health projects at a boarding school for vision-impaired children, from conducting baselines health studies to opening a government-run clinic. Brittany’s Ph.D. research is focused on women’s reproductive health and childbirth injuries in Ethiopia.
