Carruth Interviewed for BMJ Podcast

Lauren Carruth (PhD Arizona, 2012) is the lead author of a recent editorial in the British Medical Journal about type 2 diabetes as a consequence of crisis, displacement, and trauma. BMJ interviewed Dr. Carruth for their weekly podcast. Both podcast and article are available here. She mentions research from the UA and elsewhere concerning Native groups in Arizona, as well as her own work with Somalis in the Horn of Africa. Dr. Carruth, who is now Assistant Professor in American University’s School of International Service, writes: “It's cool that this medical journal published and found interesting the work of anthropologists!”
