Bronitsky Travels to Yekaterinburg

The United States consulate in Yekaterinburg, Russia, has invited Gordon Bronitsky (Ph.D. Arizona, 1977), President of Bronitsky and Associates, to meet with Udmurt and Nenets peoples later this month. Between August 26 and September 6 Dr. Bronitsky will attend meetings and presentations in Izhevsk and Salekhard. Among those he will meet are ethnographer and cultural anthropologist Vladimir Vladikin and young Udmurt activist Aleksey Shklyaev. Dr. Bronitsky writes, “I am looking forward to meeting Nenets people and learning about their plans and laying the groundwork for an Arctic Peoples Festival…If there is any way this could benefit [SoA] students, faculty, or programs, just let me know.” Contact Dr. Bronitsky at
