Astroth Presents Master’s Research
Kirk Astroth, who graduate in Spring 2020 with an M.A. in applied archaeology, recently shared the results from his master’s research project on dating the varnish on petroglyphs to two groups. Selected as a “Lightning Talk,” Astroth was chosen to summarize his research at the Arizona Archaeological Council’s virtual fall conference on October 23r. On November 7, Astroth also presented a much longer summary of his master’s research for the San Diego Rock Art Association virtual conference, “Measuring the Properties of Rock Varnish on Petroglyphs: A Comparison of Three Methods of Dating Analysis Used on Dated Graffiti and Ancient Petroglyphs at Three Sites in Arizona.” View the San Diego conference program here.
