Learn about new research being conducted at archaeological sites in Chihuahua, Mexico! Meet Dr. Emiliano Gallaga Murrieta (Ph.D. Arizona, 2006), Director of the Escuela de Antropología e Historia del Norte de México (EAHNM), in Chihuahua. Dr. Gallaga will give a public presentation on October 28, 2017 during Amerind Autumn Fest titled “Exciting New Archaeological Research in Chihuahua.” The slide-illustrated presentation takes place at 12:00–1:00 p.m. and again at 2:15–3:15 p.m. (schedule subject to change). Dr. Gallaga has spearheaded research in northern Mexico as part of a program in which he is training the next generation of Mexican archaeologists. He and his students have recently excavated a site with a mummified macaw that predates the site of Paquimé. More information is on the Amerind website.
