Title: Who Owns the Border?
Abstract: This talk examines the various jurisdictions and types of ownership involved in the economic exploitation of crossing points on the Sonora/Arizona borderlands. On the Mexican side, local militias 'own' and exploit specific smuggling routes and border segments.
