About Laura Romero Padilla

I am a PhD student in archaeology, with a minor in GIS. I received my BA in Archaeology from Escuela Nacional de Antropología e Historia, México in 2013 and my MA in Mesoamerican Studies from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, México in 2017. My research interests include Mesoamerican Archaeology; Ritual Cave Traditions, Speleoarchaeology; Ancient Maya; Archaeology of Religion, Caves; Performance, Memory, and Senses. As part of the Middle Usumacinta Archaeological Project, I conducted reconnaissance in the Tenosique municipality in Tabasco, México. My research has been funded by Consejo Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnología (CONACyT), and the University of Arizona School of Anthropology.
