Haury-Reid Interviews on YouTube
The Arizona Archaeological and Historical Society (AAHS) has made available on YouTube Emil Haury’s 1988 interview with J. Jefferson Reid. The three-part series features “Doc” Haury, who was the head (1937–1964) of what was first the UA Department of Archaeology, then the Department of Anthropology, in a discussion with University Distinguished Professor Emeritus Jeff Reid about the early University of Arizona archaeology program, Ventana Cave, Gila Pueblo, Snaketown, other endeavors, and acting as chauffeur for Haury’s former boss, Byron Cummings, founding head of the Department of Archaeology (1915–1937).
