From Ghent to Helsinki—Gender and Methodology in the Ancient Near East

Beth Alpert Nakhai (SoA Associate Professor) is pleased to announce the publication of her new co-edited volume, The Mummy under the Bed: Essays on Gender and Methodology in the Ancient Near East, with Katrien De Graf (Ghent University), Agnès Garcia-Ventura (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona), and Anne Goddeeris (Ghent University) (wEdge vol. 1; Münster: Zaphon; https://www.zaphon.de/the-mummy-under-the-bed/en). The four co-editors were together in early June in Helsinki, where they attended the Fifth Workshop on Gender, Methodology and the Ancient Near East, hosted by the University of Helsinki and the Centre of Excellence in Ancient Near Eastern Empires. Beth’s paper was titled “Un-Ghosting Ancient Israelite Women."
