Alumni News: Bronitsky 1977 Brings Zimbabwean Chef to New Mexico
Gordon Bronitsky (Ph.D. SoA 1977), president of Bronitsky and Associates/IndigeNOW, recently announced that Chef Mhlelusizo Ncube from Zimbabwe will be in New Mexico July 17–August 2. She is one of the participating chefs in Indigenizing Our Diet: Indigenous Chefs Speak, which will be a virtual international Indigenous chefs speakers series, with Indigenous chefs from Canada, the United States, Mexico, Guatemala, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, and Papua New Guinea. Bronitsky and Associates/IndigeNOW previously brought Chef Ncube to speak virtually to the Culinary Arts Program at Navajo Technical University in May 2021.
Chef Ncube is a Mandela Washington Fellow for Young African Leaders at the University of Nevada at Reno until July 17. This is a highly selective State Department program. She is very interested in meeting with the culinary, African/African American and Native American communities in New Mexico.
