Today, Manager of Administration Rayshma Pereira leaves the School of Anthropology to take the position of Senior Coordinator of Faculty Affairs in the College of Veterinary Medicine. Congratulations to Rayshma on a very significant and positive advance in her career as she moves to a new position where her many skills and talents will be put to good use. Rayshma began working for the SoA in February of 2015 and we have all benefited greatly from the time she has spent with us.

Earlier this week, SoA faculty, staff, and graduate students gathered in the Haury Building to bid adieu with refreshments that included Administrative Associate Catherine Lehman’s celebrated Mexican Chocolate Cake. Rayshma, a well-known plant lover, was presented with twin begonia maculata plants—from two well-wishers acting independently, much to the amusement of all.

The School looks ahead with fear and trepidation at the prospect of not having Rayshma to keep us together and the whole operation running, but we will channel her positive energy and spirit as we come together to pull through this change.

Good luck, Rayshma! We miss you already!
