Carney Receives Virchow Award

The Society for Medical Anthropology’s special interest group “Critical Anthropology for Global Health” (CAGH) awarded the Rudolf Virchow Award, Professional Category, for 2017 to Assistant Professor Megan Carney for her paper published in Social Science and Medicine, ““Sharing One's Destiny”: Effects of austerity on migrant health provisioning in the Mediterranean borderlands.” The international panel was composed of five judges (from three continents).

The award will be presented at the Society for Medical Anthropology business meeting at the annual meeting of the American Anthropological Association, Washington DC, Friday, December 1 at 7:45 p.m.
