Sarah Cowie Accepts Tenure-Track Position

Sarah Cowie (Ph.D. Arizona, 2009) has accepted the offer of a tenure-track Assistant Professorship in the Department of Anthropology at the University of Nevada, Reno. UNR’s Department of Anthropology is a four-field department that offers BA, MA and PhD degrees.  Their strengths include prehistoric and historical archaeology, globalization, religion in society, identity and indigeneity, gender and kinship, dental anthropology, language and culture, and human ecology.  Sarah’s teaching and research will focus on historical and industrial archaeology, archaeology of the western US, and collaborative work with descendant communities. 

Until then, she is a Visiting Assistant Professor at Miami University of Ohio.  She and her husband Chris LeBlanc and their two children expect to move in July.
