We are sad to report that at 4 AM on Friday, August 20, 2010, John Tanner passed away with family at his bedside. The family has yet to make plans for a memorial. His daughter, Sandy Elers, reported that on Tuesday, he sat up and downed a large dish of vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce with no problem. He greeted Karl with a firm handshake and "What a treat!", albeit a little slurred. He had 98 years and 9 months of good life. Our daughter Louisa was at his bedside all day on Thursday. He leaves a big hole in our lives.
