Mimi Nichter (Professor of Anthropology and Associate Professor, Public Health and FCR) and Mark Nichter (Regents’ Professor and Professor of Anthropology, Public Health, Family Medicine) presented papers at the Annual Conference of the Indian Public Health Association (IPHA) in Cochin, Kerala (Feb. 10–12). Project Quit Tobacco International was prominently showcased at the meeting. Mimi Nichter’s talk was titled “Promoting a Smoke Free Household Movement in India: Turning Tobacco Control into a Women’s Issue.” Mark Nichter’s talk was titled “Developing Culturally Sensitive Approaches to Tobacco Cessation in India.”
